Happy World Vegetarian Day October 1, 2007

Filed under: food, social consciousness — terra @ 7:40 am

Today is World Vegetarian Day, to introduce Vegetarian Awareness Month. Here are some things non-vegetarians can do to help celebrate and eat healthier on Vegetarian Day:

  • try to be meatless for one day a week
  • learn how a vegetarian diet can help you
  • pet a cow

October is also Fair Trade Month. So, go out and try some fair-trade certified coffee, chocolate, or tea.

It is also Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Lots of learning and celebrating in October.

Is it Oktoberfest too? And, the changing colors of the trees and bushes? Little critters are quickly gathering food for the winter right now. I have to get some nuts out for Mr Squirrel I see run across my fence everyday. It’s a great month!

Our trees are changing color too, but it’s going to be over 75 degrees outside all week! Too warm for October.

On this world vegetarian day, I am thankful for the dietary influence that my vegetarian friends have had on my diet.
